Sculpted cut recycled steel, 13 x 17 1/2 in.
Provenance: Dr. Halvor and Astrid Jaeger Collection
Lot Essay: Encouraged to become an artist by fellow sculptor Janvier Louisjuste, Bien-Aimé has exhibited from Paris' Centre Pompidou to the Milwaukee Art Museum. While Bien-Aimé works in the manner of Georges Liautaud who initiated this genre of art, and primarily uses the same materials, his recycled metal cut work and forged sculptures incorporate layering and accoutrement which add to the whimsy of his everyday life and Vodou inspired scenes. Self-taught/Folk Outsider Art
