Lot Essay: Flags and banners known as "Drapo" or "Drapeau" are an art long associated with Haitian Vodou (formerly spelled Voodoo in English). Vodou Drapo are traditionally specific to a particular lwa (spirit). Some contemporary "Drapo" create narrative scenes, while others reference current or historical events.
