This richly-colored composition depicts an interior scene, where a woman sits enveloped by patterned red wallpaper, leaning comfortably by a small table and a fluorishing plant. Her long blue dress is a calm counterpoint to the warm washes of color that surround her pale figure. This piece is executed in the Fauve Modernist style of Henri Matisse (French, 1869-1954). Piece measures approximately 12'' x 8.5''.
