Purchas, Samuel. PURCHAS HIS PILGRIMAGE, OR RELATIONS OF THE WORLD AND THE RELIGIONS OBSERVED, in all ages and places discouered, from the Creation vnto this present : in foure parts : this first containeth a theologicall and geographical historie of Asia, Africa, and America, with the lands adiacent : declaring the ancient religions before the floud, the heathnish, Jewish, and Saracenicall in all ages since, in those parts professed, with their seuerall opinions, idols, oracles, temples, priests, fasts, feasts, sacrifices, and rites religious : their beginnings, proceedings, alterations, sects, orders, and successions : with briefe descriptions of the countries, nations, states, discoueries, priuate and publike customes, and the most remarkable rarities of nature, or humane industrie in the same. London : Printed by William Stansby for Henrie Fetherstone, and are to be sold at his shop in Pauls Church-yard at the Signe of the Rose, 1614. 2nd Edition after the first of 1613. 11 3/4 by 8 inches in contemporary full leather with gilt stamping to the spine, six raised bands, and leather label. A very famous early 17th Century travel account which went through 4 printings between 1613 and 1626, the year of Purchas's death. 

Condition
The contemporary leather binding is very worn and battered with corners and edges rubbed raw. The upper cover is separated but present. There is heavy paper restoration and rebacking to the title page. Missing last leaf of, "To the Reader;" otherwise complete and with the contents generally clean.
