**First Time At Auction**
Egypt, New Kingdom / Third Intermediate Period, ca. 1550 to 712 BCE. A stunning scarab amulet carved from a lightweight steatite and covered with a turquoise-hued glaze. The topside displays characteristic insectile features such as a miniscule head, thin legs folded underneath a large body, and two dome-shaped wings. The underside has a myriad of captivating images including a winged depiction of Isis, a bird-headed staff, a staff with a crescent moon, and a downward-facing sword with a large handle and guard. Laterally drilled for suspension, and simply gorgeous! Size: 0.55" L (1.4 cm).
