Description
**Originally Listed At $400**

Ancient Egypt, Third Intermediate to Late Dynastic Period, ca. 1070 to 332 BCE. A cast bronze amulet of the serpent-headed deity Nehebkau (Nehebu-Kau, Neheb Ka). He is a rarer god to see in amulet form than many of the more famous Egyptian deities, and is depicted here striding forward, with a human body and mummiform crown around his serpent face. A hook for suspension extends from the middle of the figure's back. Nehebkau guarded the entrance to the underworld, Duat. Size: 0.75" L x 0.25" W x 0.8" H (1.9 cm x 0.6 cm x 2 cm); 2.05" H (5.2 cm) on included custom stand.
