Eastern Europe, Russia, Magadan Region (southeast) Seymchan, meteorite found ca. 1967 CE. A pair of stunning rectangular pallasite meteorite slices, heterogeneous rock with translucent green-yellow olivine crystals throughout. The Widmanstätten pattern (Thomson structures), long nickel-iron crystals found in meteorites like this one, are clear. Both slices are perforated near the top, and have a parabolic sterling silver suspension loop secured by a thin pin with a small bulb on each end. A small sterling silver hoop hangs at the top of each suspension loop, and a tangential pin has a tubular fastener on the back end and a multi-faceted circular olivine crystal mounted inside four curved pins. Created in modern times, these wearable earrings would make for a dazzling addition to any outfit! Size of each earring: 1.5" H (3.8 cm); grade of sterling silver: 92.5% or greater.
