This is a signed copy of the stated first edition of Volume 2 of Julia Child and Simone Beck’s Mastering the Art of French Cooking (555 numbered pages, plus index), published by Knopf in 1970.
This is in its original dust jacket, which is in good condition, with moderate edge wear, and sunning to the spine area, but clean overall, with no notable stains or deep tears, and with the lettering and art unfaded. The flaps, with the price not clipped, are very good. The cover (10.25" x 7.25") has light sunning to its spine, which is straight and securely attached.
The front and back are clean and unfaded, with no stains, tears, or other flaws. The inside is near fine, its only notable flaw being a slight chip at the top edge of the front end page. There are no tears, stains or creases. The binding is tight, with no loose or missing pages.
There are no stamps or other attachments. All the text and illustrations are in like new condition.
The only writing is the brief note, signed by Julia Child, on the half title page. This is an excellent copy. I don’t have a certificate of authenticity, but this signature is guaranteed to be as I’m representing it, genuine.
