Antique Brass Scales of Justice Mounted on a Rope Twisted Column Atop a White/Black Marble Plinth. Handsome 19th century brass and marble scale of justice origin unknown, possibly Italy. Double square black marble base with lighter white and brown veining. Swirled brass center pedestal with the two good size brass dishes suspended with large chains links on either side. Ornate brass header. The brass has not been polished giving a wonderful antique patina. Brass ring at the base has two cracks (see photos) Marble in very good condition with only a few flea bites on the back side (shown in photo). Pans are 7 ¼” in diameter and approximately 2” deep. Great addition to any décor, especially a lawyer's office. Would make a great gift. Measures 22 ¾”H X 21 ½” W X 7 ¼” D.
