Description

18th Century Chinese Tibetan Qing Dynasty gilt bronze Buddhist figure of Hvashang, the Chinese patron to the Sixteen Great Arhats. Appearing under the iconographic category of 'Arhats' Hvashang, belongs to the Tibetan and Chinese narrative of the Sixteen Great Arhats.
Hvashang is a human figure, dark in complexion with portly size, along with a bald head and leisurely posture. Adorned with opulent robes he is seated in a casual fashion. The underside with incised quatrefoil flori-form petal visvavajra mark surrounding the centralized DaiJi. Extensive trace of gilt remain on robes and pedestal.

Dimensions: 6" H

Condition

EXCELLENT condition, with normal anomalies in nature, sign of stressed surface, minor scratch & dent. Surface traced wear and or declined to gilding. Normal, considering ages and wears.
