Doulton Lambeth large hand painted 10 gallon whiskey barrel. Depicting a team of draft horses, pulling a brewery dray, or wagon, to deliver whiskey or potables to English public houses. The Lion Brewery was located near the Doulton Lambeth factory and may have inspired the team horses. The tradition of Clydesdales and other large horses pulling wagons for beer and spirits deliveries is common to both the United Kingdom and the United States. Marked Doulton Lambeth.
