Exceptional and rare, this Lamp with figural study of Potter, is considered one of the best examples of Chang Flambe firing and sculpting that Royal Doulton produced. The Chang Potter lamp is the culmination of Charles Noke and his team’s ongoing development of transmutation glazes, which in 1925 resulted in the launch of Royal Doulton’s Chang wares. The Chang Potter lamp was introduced circa 1930 and together the complexity of the model and the intricacies of the glaze meant that few were ever produced. Artist is Charles Noke and Harry Nixon.
