Description
Five (5) European military porcelain figurines. 1st-2nd items: Two (2) Capodimonte porcelain figurines of soldiers, one British and one Prussian, both with military snare drums on naturalistic bases, Prussian with gilt acanthus leaves and garland trim. Base of British solider reads "Anno 1750", base of Prussian soldier reads "Tamburino garibaldini" and dated "1866" underside of base. Both with maker's marks, underside of bases. Both figurines approximately 9 1/4" H x 3 3/4" W. 3rd-4th items: Two (2) Scheibe Alsbach porcelain Napoleonic equestrian military figurines, including one depicting General Charles Joseph de Pully (1751-1832) and one depicting an imperial guard, both on naturalistic bases with gilt bird and garland trims. Both identified on obverse of bases, maker's marks on reverse of bases. Both figurines approximately 12" H x 9" W. 5th item: Rudolf Kammer Volkstedt porcelain figurine depicting a young soldier in uniform, holding a sword with his left hand as he leans against a white picket fence on a naturalistic base with gilt trim. Maker's mark underside of base. 10 3/4" H x 4 3/4" W. All late 19th century. Provenance: Private Knoxville, TN collection. (Additional high-resolution photos are available at www.caseantiques.com.)
Condition
Overall very good condition. Few surface scuffs but otherwise no visible breaks or repairs.
