Description
Two (2) English and German sterling items. 1st item: George III sterling silver salver, Ebenezer Coker, London, 1758, round tray with scalloped swag and shell edge, inner rim with incised swag and floral cartouches. Center with hand-engraved monogram. Raised on three double-scrolled pad feet. Base with block hand-engraved name of ELIZA.G,BANKSON. 1 1/8" H x 7 3/8" dia. 8.535 oz troy. 2nd item: Continental silver rectangular hinged covered box with repousse figural scene of villagers drinking and making merry. European hallmarks. 1 3/8" H x 7 3/8" W x 2 1/4" D. 7.565 oz troy. Late 19th - 20th century. Provenance: Baltimore estates of Virginia Howard Miller (c. 1880-1946) and Hugh Purviance King (1873-1966) passed down to present Living Estate of Virginia Johnston, Chattanooga, TN. 1st item: Very good condition. Base possibly shellacked. 2nd item: Very good condition with some scratches on base.
