Description
Southeast Asian Archaic style bronze double figural pricket candlestick, in the form of two deities or Bodhisattvas, each seated atop lotus bases, with blazing suns behind their heads, atop a single rectangular pierced stand. 14 1/2" overall. 13 lbs total. Late 19th/Early 20th century. Provenance: the estate of Mr. and Mrs. Jeter Eason, Memphis, Tenn., by descent to current consignor. Condition
Significant oxidation and wear, old cement repairs to neck of one figure and to back. One pricket broken off; 3/8" hole in front of one figure suggests it originally held something in its hand.
