L'Deane Trueblood (born 1928) Large Bronze Sculpture of a Boy Holding a dog. 1997 Signature Incised near base, also numbered 33/39. Height: 46 inches. Ms. Trueblood received her BFA with honors from the University of Oklahoma. After receiving her MFA, she worked as an illustrator and arts director for the U.S. Air Force. She spent many years in Europe where her husband was a NATO commander. Trueblood's many interests also led to mountain climbing. She is recognized as the first woman over 40 years of age to climb Mount Elbe. Her achievements have helped her to establish a solid reputation, earning her vast recognition as a principal bronze sculptor in the art world. The article "Utah's 100 Most Honored Artists" in Who's Who in American Art and Feminine Fortunes' "Fifty Most Successful Women, 2003" both featured L'Deane as a prominent artist. From her home studio, she often uses her grandchildren as models. Born in Norman, Oklahoma, she is listed in Who's Who in American Art, and as stated, was featured in Feminine Fortunes "Fifty Most Successful Women in 2003.
