Nat King Cole Autograph on a Chez Paree Giant Postcard (back when it was only 3 cents to mail). Nat King Cole was one of the many top performers who appeared at the Chez Paree. Measures 10"x7" The Chez Paree was a Chicago nightclub known for its glamorous atmosphere, elaborate dance numbers, and top entertainers. It operated from 1932 until 1960 in the Streeterville neighborhood of Chicago at 610 N. Fairbanks Court. The club was the epitome of the golden age of entertainment, and it hosted singers to comedians to vaudeville acts. Nathaniel Adams Coles (1919-1965), known professionally as Nat King Cole, was an American jazz pianist and vocalist. He recorded over one hundred songs that became hits on the pop charts. His trio was the model for small jazz ensembles that followed. Cole acted in films and on television and performed on Broadway. He was the first black man to host an American television series.
