Description
George Jones English 19th century Majolica strawberry server. The circa 1875 majolica pottery serving dish, Pattern No. 3423, is modeled as a brown planked wood trug with cross-framed twigs and cross bar forming the handle flanked by two full-bodied birds, all decorated with strawberries and leaves, the removable cream and sugar pots formed as planked wood. The underside is marked with an impressed English diamond registry date and stamp along with the mark GJ for George Jones and hand painted numbers 3423. Good condition, tiny chip on wing tip of one of the birds. Measure 15.2 inches wide x 8 inches high.
