Japanese Ichimatsu Gofun paper-mache doll from the 1920's or earlier. Solid-domed paper-mache head with black wig, glass eyes, eyeliner, closed mouth, paper-mache shoulder plate and lower limbs, muslin upper arms and legs. He is dressed in a black kimono and haori coat in a scattered floral motif, leather shoes and deep yellow corduroy hat. Good condition, slight wear on nose and brows, small chip on one ear. Measures 32 inches high x approximately 12 inches across the shoulders.
