Item Details

Description

French 19th century carved wood gilt gesso wheel barometer. The barometer has carved roses around the dial and a basket of roses at the top. The body is decorated with acanthus carvings. It has a porcelain dial and the glass thermometer at the top has some hairline cracks. The barometer tube is chipped at the bottom, consequently there is no mercury to worry about. The original gilt has been repainted gold. Good condition, wear from normal use and a few small chips. Measures 31.5 inches high x 10 inches wide.
