The blind ministrel Yabuhara (Yabuhara kengyo藪原検校) overcomes a street thief, who was stalking him from behind a Buddha statue. Original color woodblock print from the series AZUMA NO NISHIKI UKIYO KODAN - "Tales of the Floating World on Eastern Brocade Pictures" (東錦浮世稿談), published 1867, 9th month. Signed: Ikkaisai Yoshitoshi hitsu. Seal: Kiri. Publisher: Omiya Kyujiro. Censor seal: Aratame combined with date.
The series narrates dramatic or violent events from famous stories (kodan) of different authors. Author of the re-narrated short texts was the Gesaku writer Kanagaki Robun.
