Description
A pair of fine Maya eccentrics from Guatemala, c. AD 250 - 600, the choice pair depicting the sun and the moon. The sun symbol is 2 1/8 in (5.3 cm) in diameter, is made from flint and is rayed. The moon is 1 7/8 in (4.8 cm) in diameter and is made from translucent chalcedony. Both with good calcification. Ex Sears collection.
