Silk binding cord repaired, ribbon closures wanting; in a restored original box. First French Edition. Limited to 100 sets. Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens was published in 1906 and was one of Rackham's earliest successes. In 1911 this French version of the Peter Pan Portfolio came out, with an introduction by Robert de la Sizeranne; the plates are greatly enlarged from the book version. In 1912 the English version was issued, in an edition intended to be 500 sets. In fact only about 100 were issued of which about 20 had every plate signed by Rackham. In 1914 an American edition limited to 300 sets was published by Brentano's. Latimore & Haskell p. 39.
