(8vo) 20x15 cm (8x6") period vellum, raised spine bands, titles in period ink on spines. Christian Lupus was a historian. Lupus was born at Ypres. He joined the Augustinian Order at the age of fifteen, and on the completion of his studies, was appointed lecturer in theology, to the younger members of the order in Cologne.
These five volumes contain a detailed history of the councils, with many dissertations.
Some wear to bindings, corner tips worn and lightly bumped, library stamps to title page of vol. 1, light foxing.
