Description
A George IV gold and diamond mourning brooch. Of rectangular outline, the border set with diamonds, to the glazed panel with woven hair beneath, the reverse engraved with a number of names and dates of their passing. Length 2.6cms. Weight 6.2gms. With associated case.
Condition
The condition of this lot is fair. There is wear to the glass and hair in keeping with general wear. The box is marked for B Barnett Ltd, 7 Cranbourn St Leicester Square, WC.2. It has signs of wear to the interior and exterior. The engraving reads : 'Daniel Guillemard Obt 7th Augt 1822 at 50. HL Guillemard Obt 17th Augt 1842 at 21.
