This is the slim (30 numbered pages) bi-lingual edition, with Michel Tournier's original french text and Barbara Wright's translation of that into english, of Un jardin a Hammamet (30 numbered pages), a 1986 Lord John Press publication. This is a tale of the creation of and residence within a garden on Djerba, the land of the lotus eaters, off the coast of Tunisia, by an ex-pat american and his english lover. The textured cover (app. 8.75" x 5.75"), of indeterminate material - somewhat leatheresque - is in fine condition, with no fade to the green background or the gold lotus design and lettering. The inside is also fine, with no stamps or other attachments, and no writing, other than Tournier's signature on the limitation page, which indicates a total printing of 176 copies. The two full-page drawings and other illustrations by Leila Menchari, are in fine condition. There are no tears or creases. The binding is tight, with no loose or missing pages. There is no fade. This is a flawless copy.
