Description
This work features a framed miniature watercolour on paper painting of Queen Marie De Medici, the second wife of King Henry IV of France and of the House of Bourbon. She was a member of the wealthy and powerful House of Medici and acted as regent for her son, King Louis XIII of France and Queen of France. The watercolour on paper painting is mounted on wood frame; on verso features a single page (pp. 1708) from the Histoire de Russie, a history of Russia published by chez Debure l'aîné, 1782. The framed piece measures 6 x 5 in. (15.24 x 12.7 cm). PROVENANCE: Upper New York Estate
