Andy Warhol (American, 1928-1987): Sam the Cat: Watercolor and ink on paper, signed and titled lower margin, unframed.

Good aged condition: Discoloration of paper, upper left corner loss, scratches and dings in the paper surface, folds in the corners, scratches and a few small holes.

Dimensions: 11 x 8.5 inches.

Warhol was an avid cat lover! He lived in his Carnegie Hill townhouse throughout the 50's & 60's with his mother and 25 cats. In 1954, he published a book of lithographs, 25 Cats Name Sam and One Blue Pussy. Warhol depicted each cat with care and displays the felines individual expression and character.
