2 volumes. [2] xiv, xxxvi, [42 subscriber list], 424, [16 index]; [2], 446, [24 index, errata]. Copper engraved portrait frontispiece by Vertue, plates by William Hogarth (some folding). (8vo) 19x11 cm (7½x4½") period diced calf with old calf rebacking, red and black spine labels.

The first Hogarth edition was published in 1726, but this is called by Lowndes the "Best edition. Copies in fine condition are in considerable request. The cuts are beautifully engraved by Hogarth." Lowndes p. 335.

Condition

Bindings worn; light foxing but internally very good or better.
