Description
Henry Koehler (New York, born 1927) Painting of a long haird dachshund. Oil on paper laid on board. Signed lower right. Christie's label verso. Sight Size: 8 x 11.75 in. Overall Size: 16 x 20 in. Koehler graduated from Yale University, and shortly after that had illustrations published by The New Yorker, Town and Country, and Sports Illustrated. His first exhibition was in 1961, and since then he has exhibited in over 60 venues in London, Paris, Dublin, Johannesburg and the United States. His works are in the collections of the National Racing Museum in Saratoga and the National Horse Racing Museum in Newmarket. An July-October 2003 exhibition, Elegant Impressions of Turf and Field, was held at the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame, Saratoga Springs.
