An exceptional Edwardian diamond bar brooch, in platinum, France, circa 1900 - 1910. This glamorous brooch has been superbly crafted out of platinum with intricate open work and delicate milgrain detail that forms a wonderful symmetrical pattern. This piece exemplifies the geometric designs of the late Art Nouveau and early Art Deco movement and the romantic grandeur of the Edwardian and Belle Epoque era. 57 well proportioned and beautifully matched round old European cut diamonds, totaling approximately 2.76 carats, are bezel and prong set across the face of brooch. The central gem is 0.50 carats, the two side stones 0.25 carats each, the gems above and bellow 0.10 carats each and the remaining 52 diamonds are 0.03 - 0.04 carats each. All the diamonds have very good color (G - I) and clarity (VS - SI). The brooch is in excellent antique condition, showing only general signs of wear. It has only been lightly cleaned to maintain its fine patina. It weighs approximately 20.95 grams and measures 2.5 inches (6.35 cm) wide by 1.5 inches (3.81 cm) tall and weighs 20.95 grams.
