Hardcover. 4 x 5 1/2 inches. 56 numbered pages, half the pages are blank – two printed pages followed by two blank pages, all the way through. Each page of text faces a full color illustration. Illustration on cover shows Sambo within a black oval with black lettering. The back cover is blank. Text and illustrations are clean and bright. Gift inscription to Huguette Clark on left blank page, dated 1912. Protective glassine is toned and chipped.

Notes/Literature: Huguette Marcelle Clark (1906-2011) was an heiress and philanthropist, who became well known again late in life as a recluse, living in a hospital for more than 20 years while her mansions remained empty. She was an accomplished artist and musician, having studied under famous portrait painter Tadeusz Styka, and her paintings were exhibited at the Corcoran Gallery, Washington in 1925
