Description
Polar bear Ours Brun Sculpture, inspired by the sculpture by artist François Pompon (1855-1933) Pompon was born in Saulieu in French Burgundy as a furniture maker. At his 15th year, he employed a funeral entrepreneur in Dijon, where he learned the principles of sculpture. During his education he met the sculptor of animal figures Pierre-Louis Rouillard, which might be the source of inspiration for the work he would become famous for much later. Only when he is 67 years old is his breakthrough with the exhibition of l'Ours Blanc in plaster at the Salon des Artses Français. Successful exhibitions follow in Tokyo and Osaka, and the now famous polar bear is performed in marble. Packaged carefully and sent by registered transport, including original storage box and certificate.
