Description
A set of 4 panels of Cantonese style embroideries in wooden frames and dating from the 19th century. The frames have lotus tracery, and the silks are embroidered with pheasants, peacocks, a crane, and other birds and insects within a landscape setting.
Dimensions are: each silk panel measures 35 1/4 inches tall X 18 3/4 inches wide, while each wooden frame measures 66 3/4 inches tall X 24 1/2 inches wide. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: There are several small tears, the glass is cracked in one panel and torn the embroidery beneath at the bottom, minor age wear and some fading. The frames show age wear and 1 has been repaired.
