Description
A nicely mounted trio of ancient objects. Lot includes an Egyptian steatite scarab, Late Period, c. 664 - 332 BC, with nicely carved body and a cobra and the god Ptah on base, 18 x 14 mm. The second item is an Egyptian faience amulet of the god Thoth, Late Period - Ptolemaic, c. 664 - 30 BC, with remnants of green glaze, H: 5 cm. The third object is a Byzantine/Roman bronze bird applique, c. 5th - 7th Century AD, with incised details and nicely patinated. 2 x 1 7/8 in (5 x 4.7 cm). The group is nicely mounted on a custom lucite base. Ex collection of Riesa and Harold Howard.
