Description
Eight Redware Lids and One Wooden Pottery Implement, attributed to the Singer Pottery, Haycock Township, Bucks County, PA, fourth quarter 19th century, eight wheel-thrown lids of various forms, size, and glazes, together with a circular wooden object with two nails in underside, possibly used as a ware board or plate mold. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market lot, discovered by a Singer family descendant in the 1950s in one of several boxes stored away in the eaves of the Singer Pottery warehouse. One lid missing large section. All in otherwise fair to excellent condition. Wooden object in excellent condition. Diameter (of largest lid) 9 1/4".
