An interesting pair of all brass [except for the separate iron wall mount] spring loaded candle sconces that date from the early days of the 20th century. Patent date that is stamped into the cap where the candlewick comes out. It reads: "Pat'd Sept. 10 1907". The bottom cap fits into a dimple on each side that holds the spring in place which in turn holds the candle in a cup and pushes it against the cap as it burns. It is topped by a tapered glass chimney. That chimney bears the green trademark of the "Pyrex" company. the overall length of the sconce is 7". With the shade installed it is 11 5/8". the sconces fit to the wall with a cast iron bracket.

2 condition issues: 1) one of the "caps" is slightly dented. Should be an easy fix. 2) one of the lampshades is gone.
