Description
The lot consists of a porcelain figure group of horse & rider, a silk weaving and a framed and fringed fancier silk weaving along with a booklet of the School's history.
The booklet has 64 pgs., measures 5 7/8" x 6 1/4" & was written by Col. A. Podhasky, Chief of the Spanish Riding School. B+W and several color plates. There are 2 woven silk pictures of the classic Lippanzer stallion. One is unframed, comes ready to hang in the manner of a tapestry. 1 is edged with a wire thread border and overall measures 12 1/4" x 9 1/2".
The other is an almost identical silk weaving but it has a wide white silk fringe border that is 1 5/8" wide. This entire weaving is 11" x 11 3/4" and with the frame it is 13 3/8" x 14 1/2". Each of the 2 weavings have the word "Levade" in black in the lower-left corner.
The porcelain statue of the horse & rider stands 10 7/8" to the ear-tips. The divided oval base is 7 1/4" x 3 1/2".
Green mark on bottom reads: Gerold Porzellan Bavaria. Made in Western Germany. Impressed model # 7083.
