Walter Scott Lenox and Jonathan Coxon Sr. founded the Ceramic Art Company in Trenton, New Jersey, in 1889. In 1896 Lenox bought out Coxon's interest, and in 1906 the company was renamed Lenox, Inc.. The company makes porcelain that is similar to Irish Belleek. Lenox also produced elaborately painted fish and game sets as well as pieces with sterling silver overlay. In 2009, after a series of mergers, Lenox became part of Clarion Capital Partners.
