Description
minimalist style, circa 1970, brass shade and base, polished chrome arms, 35 1/2" to 41 1/2", signed, currently on view at Museum of Modern Art (MOMA), an iconic lamp, Burgess estate....Cedric Hartman is an iconic American lighting designer whose streamlined, hand-made pieces harmoniously blend form and function. His work has been referred to as “The Louis Vuitton of Lighting,” as he is the preferred designer of stylish and contemporary fixtures. Hartman’s work is identifiable by his attentiveness to the architecture of each fixture. Orchestrated by a mere fifteen person staff, each piece is meticulously crafted using the highest quality materials to produce small editions of his works. A native Nebraskan, Cedric Hartman still works everyday at his studio workshop in Omaha. He has enjoyed widespread acclaim- several examples of his custom-made lighting fixtures are housed in New York’s Museum of Modern Art permanent design collection. Also, the New York Times and Veranda have featured Hartman’s work declaring it as some of the most beautiful, hand-crafted fixtures offered in the lighting industry.
