Kept near Ludlow/Cavendish by farmer. 2 vols., 48 pp. total text, with printed map, business directory. ++ O. S. Colby, Canterbury, New Hampshire, 1881 diary. Farm and lumbering operations in preprinted Standard Diary. 1 vol. 121 pp. ++ Mary Carroll, poetry and sentiment book, 1856-58. Original and copied verse with 8 color plates in vol. with gold-stamped decorated cover. Later pencil markings throughout. 54pp. ++ George’s Valley Lodge No. 162, International Organization of Good Templars, North Appleton, Maine. 1896-1904. Record of dues paid, initiation fees, etc. This anti-liquor organization was unusual for admitting women as full members. 120 pp., with 11 pp index of members. ++ Financial records of the banking house of Doty, Parker & Co. 2 vols., 1866-68, 1873-80. Mifflintown, Penn. Held Northern Pacific RR bonds, real estate, & local accounts. Bank profit and loss, “furniture and vault” and other expenses. 258 pp. total. ++ Accounts volume of Joseph Masseth, who established the famous Masseth House in Canandaigua, N, Y. 1 vol., 1875-76. 112pp. of daily personal expenses, contemporary with the establishment of this hotel. ++ Portion of a very early day book kept by Perez Packard, Stoughton, Mass., 1805-1816. Lumbering and farm work. With Packard genealogy stating Perez was born July 9, 1777 and listing his children. 30pp. ++ Samuel H. Stevens, Account book, Gilmanton, N.H., 1831-56. 1 vol., farm accounts, fencing and furniture repair. 84pp. ++ Record vol. with town expenses. Cheshire/Bloomingdale, Michigan area, 1884-1894. 256pp. ++ Brig Atlas and other accounts, 1835-36. Business/house accounts of a sawmill operation. Writer owned half share in Brig Atlas, under command of Capt. Elisha Billings. 76pp., rough 12mo., loosely string tied. ++ David B. Cump, record of his carpentry, remodeling, and furniture work in Greencastle, Penn., area, 1906-1916, 72 pp. comprehensive text. ++ Business records (1896), for firm of Charles P. Filkins and Frank E. Trowbridge of Buffalo, N.Y., for office furniture, safe, clerk hire. Company sold glassware. Also records of Maude M. Mosher and others for wholesale dry goods firm. This firm includes tannery accounts including purchase of 150 “dry hides” from firms in Texas and Leavenworth, KS. 1 vol., 128pp. in fine hand. ++ All vols worn and well used; sold with all faults.
