Description
Vintage 1920-30s Japanese Porcelain Hibachi. Hand painted with stylized pine tree and signed. Measures 10"x10"x10". Weight 7 pds. Great for use as a Champagne Bucket. PROVENANCE: A Charleston SC Private Estate. These Porcelain Japanese Hibachi were used as heat sources usually under a Kotatsu. The Hibachi were usually filled 3/4th with ash and then a few embers for warmth and were placed underneath the Kotatsu and a quilt or coverlet placed over it and one could then warm his or her feet this way.
