American Medal in gold, blue and white enameled eagle, figure of Cincinnatus, recto: SOCIETAS CINCINNATORUM: INSTITUTA. A.D.1783; verso: OMNIA: RELINQUIT.SERVARE.REMPUBLICAM'. Resembles what is called the New York Eagle of 1870—a design type commissioned by the New York branch of the Society in 1870 and made by Colby and Johnson of New York for at least ten years. No marks. On original pale blue grosgrain ribbon with bar pin, 1 5/8" medal, 3" overall.
