When examined under black light there is no evidence of in painting or restoration. There are some areas of missing paint where the panel has come through, especially at the bottom center right under the feet of the figures. The panel would benefit from being cleaned and re-varnished. The frame looks to be original but there are areas of missing gilt and molding in the lower left corner especially.Provanance: From the estate of Hugh Baillie, the American journalist head of the United Press Association 1935 - 1955. This painting was passed down to his grandson.
