A pair of Old well handled wooden ladles with anthropomorphic forms , from the Dan peoples of the Ivory Coast of West Africa. Such spoons are known among the Dan as "wake mia" or "wunkirmia" which roughly translates as "spoon associated with feasts." Custom mounted to wooden bases. Measures 20.75 inches on wooden base.
