Description
Cinnabar silk gauze having short, puffed satin sleeve with scalloped gauze ruffles trimmed in satin rouleaux, satin waistband, full skirt decorated with bands of rouleaux and satin-trimmed gauze bows, padded hem. B-38, W-32, L-54. Macramé silk tippet with fancy tassels, DLM tag. Gown attributed on FIDM inventory to Madamé Hyde de Neuville, wife of the French minister, no provenance proof in Larson archive. (Gauze hemband has tear, mend and edgewear, few small bleached spots, tiny holes, stress to gauze in shoulder area) very good.
