Description
Cream linen with vertical bands of broderie anglaise alternating with embroidered floral vines in satin-stitch with French knots, puffed sleeve gathered into a lace-trimmed cuff at the elbow with inserts of Irish crochet, crochet high-neck insert and back closure with tiny mother-of-pearl buttons, hemline decorated with a series of scalloped tucks. B-36, W-28, L 60-73. (Several small light brown stains on skirt front, minor browning to lace) excellent. Tag "Queen Mary 1904". Doris Langley Moore provided Helen another gown worn by Queen Mary with 100% provenance. Unknown if this was acquired from DLM but size is large in waist and bust as Mary was known to be.
