Description
Peach satin with an overtunic of grey silk net embroidered with grey beads and smoked pearls, the bodice having a layer of cream chiffon with short sleeve, lace neck insert and wide satin sash. Label "Alice Maynard, Washington D.C." From Janet Arnold 1969 cataloging notebook: "Purchased from President Wilson's granddaughter, Santa Barbara worn by Ellen Wilson", newspaper regarding Mrs. Eleanor Wilson McAdoo's role in celebration regarding her parents, photo of the First Lady with writing on the back, note stating mother had worn the dress, all substantiate this was worn by Mrs. Woodrow Wilson , B-36, W-30, H-36, L-57. (Small hole and few snags in tulle overskirt, minor bead losses) excellent.
