(4to) full later gilt decorated red morocco by Henery Young of Liverpool, re-backed with gilt paneled spine strip laid down. Top edge gilt. Second Edition, extra-illustrated.
George Cruikshank was a British caricaturist and book illustrator, praised as the "modern Hogarth" during his life. His book illustrations for his friend Charles Dickens, and many other authors, reached an international audience. This copy with the armorial bookplate of Richard Holmden. There is one leaf inserted at front containing a blank plate. Handsome copy of the scarce, extra-illustrated edition.
