Description
The teapot is decorated with a slender c-shaped handle and an s-shaped spout. The two circular sides of the teapot are decorated with moulded and applique leafy peonies growing from rocks. The narrow sides are decorated with eight clambering chilong, all but one clasping a lingzhi spray in its mouth. The domed cover is decorated with further chilong and is surmounted by a twin dragon finial.
Condition: The cover:
There is a tiny chip to the rim (approx. 0.2 cm.).
The teapot:
There are a few shallow chips to the spout and the foot (the largest approx. 0.5 cm.).
Origin: China
Period: kangxi period (1662-1722)
